Our Director-General encourages that Departments prioritise leave planning and ensure that staff utilise the full quota of their annual leave days.
A break from work will allow staff to switch off, de-stress, regain focus and re-energise, essential if you want to create a sustainable culture of engagement, productivity and happiness. It can also serve to boost retention, engagement and the culture of the Department.
It is also important to lead by example. If you are committed to changing the Treasury Brand but you can’t remember when last you yourself took leave then how can you expect to be an agent for change? It is key that you and your staff give just as much thought and attention to your personal lives, as you do with your working lives and in doing so help find a sustainable balance.
